DMSO State and Handling Due to its relatively high freezing point of 18.4°C (65.3°F), pure DMSO (99.9%) exists in either a liquid or solid/crystal state, depending on the temperature. At or below room temperature, it is in a solid/crystal state, while above this temperature, it is liquid.

If the DMSO is in a crystal state, you can place the container in a wide container or pot with hot (not boiled) water, and close it if possible. The water should not go above the neck of the bottle. After 30-60 minutes, change the water with hot water again. Then, keep the bottle at room temperature above the melting point, or place it on a heater overnight to liquefy the DMSO.

DMSO is an organic, colorless, natural, and non-synthesized liquid, extracted from lignin.
